S197 Facelift (2012 vs 2013)

We all know the S197 Mustang had a refresh in 2010, but it also got a facelift from 2013-2014. Which do we think looks best, and why?

Personally, I think the 2010-12 has the better looking front end, it isn’t copying the then GT500, and all the Mustangs from those years have different looking front ends (GT, BOSS, GT500); differentiating them from one another. The ‘13-14 takes it’s styling from the GT500 and all models in those years look the same.

I think the ‘13-14 cars may have a better looking rear end. But I’m not sure why, honestly. It might be the tallights, I’m not sure. But the ‘10-12 cars have a cleaner looking rear end to me honestly. The ‘13-14 has some weird trim in the license plate section that bothers me.

Overall, I think the 2010-12 cars look better, what do you all think?

‘10-’12 nose w/‘13-’14 rear. The 10-12 is just too close to 05-09 and I do not like how that rear looks at all.

10/12 looked a lot cleaner. Something about the 13 refresh made it look fat.

To me, Mustang peaked at Terminator. Aesthetically speaking only. After that they ran out of ideas so they just kept modifying designs from the 60s.

But thats just the oppinion of a random internet dude and means nothing lol

I like the early one since it doesn't attempt to have thing single giant grill look. I know that's an original gt350/500 thing so I don't mind it on the shelbys but it looks meh on every trim.

I think the 2000 Cobra R was the peak of Mustang design (apart from the functional pepboy-esk rear wing). From the “I’ll cut your feet off at your ankles front splitter”, the fuck you big hood bulge, the “screw over your ear drums loud exhaust”, and the “hope you like your wrist” hard to shift shifter”. It was the perfect Mustang.

There is on for sale in Toronto with 385miles on it. They are asking $66,000 USD, thats almost $90,000 CAD. I don’t get why they are asking it in the US dollar when it is being sold in Canada. I know our dollar is shit, but that is not reason too take advantage of your countries dollar.

I prefer the 13-14. To me the front looks more aggressive and I like the taillights a lot better. But I’m biased.

I’m most impressed with the lighting upgrades on the 2013. The actual front bumper of the 2010-2012 is more my cup of tea.

2010-12 definitely.

I hated the first retro look.

The 2010-12 looked as if the previous generation took off her glasses and ponytail like in a high school movie.

The 2013-14 was when she went too far and just started getting plastic surgery, that went wrong.
